Pickle for a Purpose

In pickleball, every shot counts. Each one plays a critical role in changing the course of the game. The same is true for the youth we serve through Horizons San Diego. When students are given a shot—a real chance at opportunity, enrichment, and connection—it can change the trajectory of their lives.

Pickle for a Purpose is more than a tournament. It’s a movement to level the playing field. Your registration and sponsorship directly supports out-of-school academic and enrichment programs for students from under-resourced communities in San Diego, giving them the same kind of game-changing support that great pickleball demands: precision, strategy, and a whole lot of heart.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The tournament format is competitive and designed for players who want structured, bracket-style match play. Teams will be matched on skill level and complete in a round-robin format.

OPEN PLAY FORMAT
The open play format is your chance to hit the courts without the pressure of competition. Rotate in and out of casual games, meet fellow pickleball fans, and enjoy the spirit of community. Perfect for beginners, social players, and those who just want to play a few friendly matches.
